The bikes are back! recycles is open for the spring as of March 19, 2012.
recycles, an initiative of the Office of Sustainability, is the University of Chicago's bike share program. The program currently has a total of 26 bikes, including one tandem, at four locations on campus. It is available to U of C students, faculty, staff, and alumni with a valid CNetID.A partnership with Blackstone Bicycle Works, a local nonprofit organization that mentors youth in the neighborhood, recycles’ fleet of refurbished bicycles and relatively low-tech design enables us to offer it for free to users.
Registration is easy and takes only a few minutes. Once you have registered, you will receive various program materials via email. Please take the time to review them. A few key points to note:

- You must return the bike the same day and to the same location
- Bikes are available in a variety of styles and sizes
- Please use a helmet and be mindful of pedestrians
